Celebrate New Services for Alleghany County

SPARTA, NORTH CAROLINA (September 20, 2005) – Alleghany County is
now home to a new propane provider and showroom featuring gas logs,
fireplaces, stoves and heaters as Blue Ridge Energies moves into the
area.
Blue Ridge Energies is a wholly-owned heating fuels subsidiary of Blue
Ridge Electric Membership Corporation. The company now offers full
propane service to residents and businesses in Alleghany County and a
showroom in the Alleghany office of Blue Ridge Electric located at 1889
Highway 21 South in Sparta.
The Alleghany office staff of Blue Ridge Electric will provide customer
service to Alleghany County Blue Ridge Energies customers while John
Blevins, Blue Ridge Energies heating fuels manager, and his staff
will provide propane delivery.
Blue Ridge Energies hosted an open house with prize drawings and
refreshments on Wednesday, September 14, to celebrate its arrival in
Alleghany County and introduce visitors to the new showroom.
The company also hosted a Business after Hours event for the Chamber of
Commerce later that evening in honor of the new Blue Ridge Energies
services now available in Alleghany County.
Winners of $25 gas cards good at local stations were: Ed Hall of
Sparta, Kathy Reeves Miller of Sparta, Cindy Kuehn of
Sparta, Candy Harris of Sparta, Brian Finney of Sparta, and
Arvill Scott of Lansing.
Blue Ridge Energies also has showrooms in the Blue Ridge Electric
district offices in Lenoir, Boone, and West Jefferson. Blue Ridge
Energies’ propane services are also available in Catawba and Avery
counties.
