Lenoir,
North Carolina (January 26, 2005) – Blue Ridge Energies, a provider
of propane and heating fuels to business and residential customers,
recently assisted Lenoir Fire Department in safety training to achieve
their Rescue Technician (RT) certification from the state of North
Carolina.
The safety training Blue Ridge Energies provided to Lenoir Fire
Department for propane gas and heating fuel tankers was one of a series
of training sessions associated with rescue efforts involving large
vehicles.
The training sessions were arranged by Chief Ken Briscoe after the
addition of a new rescue vehicle to the department’s fleet. RT
certification will help ensure Lenoir Fire Department is equipped and
ready to respond to potential situations involving school buses, public
transportation vehicles, tankers and other large transport vehicles.
“Blue Ridge Energies places a strong emphasis on safety and training, so
we are proud to assist the Lenoir Fire Department in their certification
process,” said Glenda Christian, chief operating officer of Blue Ridge
Energies.
Blue Ridge Energies is wholly owned propane and heating fuels subsidiary
of Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation. Serving Caldwell, Catawba,
Watauga, Ashe, Avery and parts of Alleghany counties, Blue Ridge Energies
has showrooms in Lenoir, Boone, and West Jefferson featuring gas logs,
fireplaces, stoves and heaters.
