July 7, 2000 – Mike Bledsoe has been named Operations Manger of the West Jefferson office of Blue Ridge Energies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Ridge Electric that provides propane and heating fuels as well as gasoline to western North Carolina.
“I’m very excited to be serving the people of Ashe County,” Bledsoe said. “We have a fine staff that is eager to meet customer needs, and I invite the community to call us or come by any time to find out how we can serve their business or home.”
Bledsoe has a long history in the fuels business. He began his career with Tropigas in bulk fuel delivery and then moved to North Carolina Propane to work in installation, service, and management. He was also a manger at Thermogas and at SCANNA, where he left to join Blue Ridge Energies.
Bledsoe is licensed in fuel piping and is certified in the heating fuels industry as a plant operator and in distribution systems, heating technology, and bulk and cylinder
delivery.
He is a volunteer with the Fleetwood Fire and Rescue Department. He and his wife Marlene and daughters Maria and Misty live in Fleetwood, where they are members of Big Flats Church.
Located on 2255 Hwy. 163 South, Blue Ridge Energies opened in West Jefferson earlier this year after the company purchased the former Ashe Oil Co. In addition to gasoline and heating fuels, Blue Ridge Energies added propane and related services to its line of customer offerings this year. The company also has a gasoline filling station on-site and provides cylinder fill-ups at its office.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Ridge Electric, Blue Ridge Energies serves customers from offices in Morganton, Lenoir, Boone, and West Jefferson.
